You're "berry" welcome to my site! This website serves primarily to present my poetry and digital artworks. Navigate your way through the site using the links across the top.

My name is Eoin Dunford, I was born in 1980, and I'm from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Éire (Ireland). I like pop and rock music: music artists like ABBA, Belinda Carlisle, Blondie, and David Bowie. This website eoindunford.com has been in existence since 11 August 2016. Thanks for visiting and more information about me and the website can be found below.

Scríobh mé seo in 2021

"Tá an Béarla le fáil sna spásanna móra oscailte agus tagtar ar an nGaeilge, áfach, sna háiteanna cúngaithe teoranta... tá an Ghaeilge le fáil ag barr cnoc agus ag bun [íochtar] gleannta." What this means, approximately, is that when Irish started receding before the English language (the DECAY of the Irish language began to become serious around 1840) it was driven down glens and out onto remote peninsulas. The language survives as a naturally spoken language in remote corners of this land.

I like the Christmas image below. It was a card I bought and scanned.

Blue is my favourite colour and this is a translation I made a few years ago of a beautiful poem by the French surrealist poet Paul Éluard

THE EARTH IS BLUE LIKE AN ORANGE

Translation from Éluard

The earth is blue like an orange
Never a mistake words do not lie
They are letting you sing no more
To the wheel of reciprocal kisses
Fools and lovers
She her wedding-ring mouth
All the secrets all the smiles
And what exorbitant clothes
To believe her quite naked

The wasps are flowering green
The dawn is worn around the neck
A necklace of windows
There are wings covering the leaves
Thou hast all the solar joys
All the sunlight on the earth
On the ways of your beauty.

/ Hobbies: listening to music
/ Writing poetry
/ Creating digital artworks

My name is Eoin Dunford and I like music (pop and rock, mostly), writing poetry, learning languages, computer games, and watching movies. I listen to a wide range of music from traditional to jazz but my very favourite bands/artists are Bryan Ferry, and Runrig [that which I used to listen to]. What's new!?!? I like the game Sid Meier's Civilization II but kindly my brother got me the two updated ones Civ III and Civ V for my birthday in April 2020. I also like Subway Surfers for Android. And I'm back playing Prince of Persia for DOSBox as well as Bubble Dizzy for VICE (Commodore 64 emulator; this turns your PC into a Commodore 64 just like the olden days!!!). In relation to various languages I'm keeping up with improving my Irish and (a different but closely related language) Scottish Gaelic and also Cymraeg. I'm still dabbling with learning French (a difficult language for me especially in relation to its pronunciation...!). I've always liked languages and I find learning them great. God bless you and your loved ones.
I've been writing poetry in English and in Irish since 1999 -- I hope you enjoy reading both languages. I love writing poetry -- and creating digital artworks. In relation to the two poems which appear below (on this homepage), the poem "How I feel about the Sweetie Mother" is about the Sweetie Mother/Our Lady, and "Footsteps" is about Moira Dunford. I created this website in 2016 and it became eoindunford.com just before Christmas 2019. Navigate your way through the site using the links across the top. The website is dedicated to God the Father, Mother Mary (whom I call the Sweetie Mother), St. Gabriel, St. Michael, and all the angels and saints. It's also dedicated to my family and friends. Go raibh maith agat as ucht cuairt a thabhairt ar mo shuíomh idirlín agus slán go fóill. Thanks for visiting and bye for the moment.
Digital artworks clockwise; already; Ainm-Anam; Bouncing Raindrops; Self-Portrait 1; Conamara; Light upon Light; Light upon Light 2; Light upon Light 3; Light upon Light 4; Chauvigny; Famille; Come Holy Spirit; Simple poem; The Light of Mary; Images of the Talca.

Footsteps
A poem written for my mum Moira Dunford

How I feel about the Sweetie Mother
A poem written about Our Lady

I follow your footsteps along the strand
Stepping over them so as not to disturb.
The yearning tide laps ever closer
And I choose my places in the soft sand.

I look up and you have disappeared from sight.
The tide has encroached on what was once your own,
Smothering the prints at the edges,
Filling them with the reflection of memory.

Soon your traces will be fully submerged
And all I'll have of you in this world
Will exist beneath the unfathomable surface,
That thinnest veil between this place and the next.
Things were at their gravest
In the throes of my utter apostasy
And then she came to me
The Sweetie Mother
And she wrapped me in her mantle
And her embrace.

She totally saved me from the demonic apostasy
And I broke down when I met her in person
Because I was totally overwrought
And because she is who she is
A goddess full of love
And overflowing with every sentiment that is good.

I met her in the restaurant once more
This morning
And things are getting better now
And she was more beautiful than ever
And kindness and all kinds of smiles
At the very next table.

She will come to me in Germany
As a teacher and a friend
And actually no voice that is
Compares to the voice of the Sweetie Mother.
When God created her
He made no mistake. I respect her and we love each other.

I hope you like my poem, Sweetie Mother,
And now I will come out to your beautiful statue to find out.

The beautiful Comeragh Mountains near my home

Jesus Christ is come in the flesh
"I am the Resurrection, and the Life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
Then Jesus beholding him loved him.
