An arty page. I'm not a good artist. The beating down of the wise. Great Art beaten down.
The images above (they will be added to) are all square and they are all 500x500 pixels and I call them vignettes though this isn't their proper name. I used to have images like them on a no-longer-extant website of mine till I accidentally deleted same when I spent a time being unwell. They are very sacred to me and I'll explain what they mean.
In order, so... and I will be adding more of these "vignettes" with the passage of time. Please God.
1. The AFRICAN LEGEND is very dear to me. I have no time for racism. Two (related and abhorrent) things I abhor are racism and fascism. Stolen from Africa. Brought to America. FIGHTING on arrival. FIGHT for survival. Give thanks and praise to the LORD and one will feel alright. Hence. African Legend. Amen and amen.
2. An sruthán is an teanga Ghaelach (i.e. Irish) for a stream. An is the definite article and na is the definite article in its plural form. Interestingly Irish has no indefinite article. As languages go and this is very biased (oh, flail me in accordance with my own whims) the language is up there beauty-wise with French or Italian. Scottish Gaelic and Manx (aka Manx Gaelic) are two related Gaelic languages. There ARE these three modern Gaelic tongues and all of them arised from Old Irish... spoken in the three lands I am banging on about approximately a thousand years ago. Get thee hence and I quoth.
3. This website's unofficial logo. :)
4. Me in 2020 and I particularly like this picture of me.
5. This yellow thingy is my new sacred symbol. I lost the old one due to that accidental delete.
6. This great man isn't my favourite pope... and neither is Francis. That'd be Benedict XVI. However!! John Paul II: we love YOU.
7. A variant of website's unofficial logo. An lon dubh=the Eurasian blackbird and I've loved the blackbird with a long time.
8. The old country church. Music is life. The lights must never go out. The music must always play. Auden. And here are some music lyrics. Thanks for visiting eoindunford.com . God bless you and yours. And keep coming back (and I quoth!).
9. Lance McKendrick's sacred symbol. kEnDrix Lance McKendrick is a pen name I am using.
THE OLD COUNTRY CHURCH
by the Oak Ridge Boys
There's a place dear to me, where I'm longing to be
With my friends at the old country church
There with mother we went and our Sundays were spent
With our friends at the old country church
As a small country boy, how my heart beat with joy
When I knelt in the old country church
And the Savior above, by his wonderful love
Saved my soul at the old country church
How I wish that today all the people would pray
As we prayed in the old country church
If they'd only confess, Jesus surely would bless
As he did in the old country church
Of't my thoughts make me weep, for so many now sleep
In their graves near the old country church
And sometime I may rest, with the friends I love best
In a grave near the old country church
Precious years of memories, (memories)
Oh what joy they bring to me (they bring to me)
How I long once more to be
With my friends at the old country church
LONG TIME COMING
by the Delays
Tore it up and walked away
Why'd you wanna go do that for?
Threw your Lego in the lake
Why'd you wanna go do that for?
And your a long time coming
A long time coming home.
Do you see me reeling
Off the lines I've seen your
I've seen your eyes.
How can you grow old you were my triumph
How can you grow old you were my triumph
Turn your face into the squall.
Why'd you wanna go do that for?
You carved your name into the wall
Why'd you wanna go do that for?
And your a long time coming
A long time coming home.
Do you see me reeling
Off the lines I've seen your
I've seen your eyes.
How can you grow old you were my triumph
How can you grow old you were my triumph
But your a long time coming
A long time coming home.
Do you see me reeling
Off the lines I've seen your
I've seen your eyes.
How can you grow old you were my triumph
How can you grow old you were my triumph
But your a long time coming
A long time coming home.
Been a long time coming
