New poetry by Eoin Dunford

A POEM FOR BRIAN

I am listening to music.
As I write these lines.
You were magic
Whilst trapped in the mendicant.

A POEM FOR THE LORD GODFREY AND THE LADY FREYA

That of Godfrey and Freya is one of the foremost relationships in heaven
(There are billions upon billions of individual people in heaven).
I know Godfrey and Freya just a little, they are among my favourite
Heavenly people.

A POEM OF GRATITUDE

I have so many things going for me -- thank God.
I live with my parents on a hilltop -- close to God.
Sometimes, when there isn't a lift available,
I walk the total of seven miles down the hill into town and back up (that dastardly hill).
This hill, which is the foothill of a mountain, Fruithill, is a beast to ascend, it would completely knock the stuffing out of myself anyway.
So I am -- on an ongoing basis -- grateful to be at home and when I do not have to undertake this terrible walk.

A POEM WRITTEN IN LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST

Laudate omnes gentes.
O Christe Domine Jesu.
These are the names of two religious songs I have.
My Latin is non-existent but I think they mean
Praise, all people,
Lord Jesus Christ.
How I love the Lord Jesus.
He was gentle, loving, courageous, and kind.

A SMALL SLICE OF HEAVEN

A small slice of heaven
Is all that I can find:
O for the permanent days when heaven
Will be a place on earth.

CAMPFIRES

I haven't, in my life, attended too many campfires.
They are an exciting romantic kind of thing
Which attract me.
It would be fun to be with friends or loved ones on the edge of a campsite regaling each other around a glimmering campfire.

DON'T LET GO

Don't let go of your dreams
And I won't let go of my Eoin neither
As I humbly bring forth the future in love:
The thunder of justice.

SAW ME

I left a shop
Without paying.
I was scene.
Saw me.

More poetry cometh soon.
